I closed my debit card account due to fraud and have received a new card from my local bank. I have recently purchased an item online and the transaction is pending. Will it not be approved? Do I need to reopen my account?

Thank you for visiting TD Helps today, Whitney. We will be glad to answer your question regarding your debit card transactions.
Generally speaking, closing a debit card will not stop the transactions from posting to your account if they were approved before the card is closed. If you made the purchase you mention using the new card you received, your transaction will show pending on your account, as it is just waiting to post.
As we would like to assist you directly, unfortunately, we do not have access to your personal information since this is considered an unsecured forum. If you wish to confirm your debit card transactions have been paid as requested; please feel free to call 888-751-9000, 24/7 to speak with one of our Banking Specialists. After account verification they'd be more than happy to review your account transactions with you. Also, you may visit any TD Bank Store to have your account reviewed in person.
