Hey Alina, thanks for coming by TD Helps. We appreciate your interest in opening an account with TD Bank and would be happy to help!
Before we begin, prior to visiting your local TD Store, we'd like to share with you the many different types of accounts TD Bank has to offer. Please take a look here: http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd to view our Checking Account products or check out our Checking Selector Tool: http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help selecting a checking account that is the best fit for you. To view and compare Savings account products, click on http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9, or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best Savings account for your needs.
Once you have decided on the account(s) that best fits your needs, when you visit your local TD Store to open the account, all you would need to bring with you is your Social Security number and your valid photo ID (driver's license, State ID, or Passport). Please note, you will need to make an initial deposit to the account you selected. There would not be a minimum requirement to open the account; however, some accounts have requirements in order to have certain fees waived. We would encourage you to review the links above prior to visiting a Store. For hours and locations near you, take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Additionally, you may also open the account via the internet by clicking on the "Open Account" box which will be listed at the bottom of each account details. To get started, you'll need the following: Your Social Security number and ID (driver's license, State ID, or Passport). To make a first deposit online, you may use a debit card linked to an account from another financial institution, a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or you can stop by your local TD Store to make a deposit.
If you prefer to open it over the phone, please call Customer Service at 1-888-751-9000, available 24/7, and we will be happy to help you open the account. Once the account is opened, you will have 30 days to make your first deposit.
We hope this helps Alina. Let us know if you have any other banking questions. Have a wonderful weekend!
