Welcome to TD Helps. We are thrilled to hear you are considering joining the TD family!
We offer many different types of Checking accounts. Prior to opening an account we encourage you to view and compare our checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/Wczmq0 or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help selecting a checking account that is the best fit for you.
There are several ways to open an account with us: online, over the phone, or in person. The items that you will need to open the account are the following: Your Social Security number and ID (driver's license, State ID, or Passport).
To open a Checking account, you may apply Online by visiting www.tdbank.com. To make a first deposit online, you may use a debit card linked to an account from another financial institution, a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or you can stop by your local TD Store to make a deposit. To open the account over the phone, you may call us directly 24/7 at 888-751-9000 and you will have up to 30 business days to make your initial deposit. Finally, you have the option of visiting us at your local TD Store to open an account. If you choose this option, you will need to make an initial deposit to the account you selected. There would not be a minimum requirement to open the account; however, some accounts have requirements in order to have certain fees waived. We would encourage you to review the link above prior to visiting a Store. For hours and locations near you, take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
When referring to opening a TD Business Checking account, we ask that you visit us at any local TD Store for assistance. There are a few things you will need to bring with you. If your business account is going to have multiple signers, we ask that you bring them with you at account opening. Those who are going to be signers on the account need to bring the following documents: a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.) and your Social Security number. For a non-resident alien opening a business account, you will need two valid forms of ID and a W-8Ben must be completed during the account opening process. Also, be sure to bring the Tax Identification Number for your business.
In regards to opening an LLC, there are some additional items you will need to bring with you. One of the listed documents is required for account opening but you can bring more than one if you desire: The documents used to form and register your business, the fictitious name registration or the Operating Agreement. Additionally, you will also need to bring documentation of your LLC Resolution.
We understand that changing banks can be a difficult process, especially if you have direct deposits and scheduled payments set up and we would be happy to help make this process as smooth as it can be! We encourage you to take a look at a checklist to help you make the move, please see here: http://bit.ly/1nEm90e. This checklist includes all of the information you need to make it easy for you to switch and make the most of your TD Bank Checking account.
Aside from the documents mentioned, you don't need to bring anything else but yourself! Thanks again for stopping by. Have an amazing week!
