Hi Lili, Thanks for reaching out to us with your question and thinking of us to open an account. We're happy to help!
There are several ways to open an account with us. Prior to opening an account, we recommend taking a look at the different types of account TD Bank has to offer. To view and compare our checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/1zArs8s or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for a recommendation on an account that may best fit her needs. To view and compare savings account products, click on http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9, or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM which can also help!
Once your daughter has decided on which account is best for her, she can open the account via the internet by clicking on the "Open Account" box which will be listed at the bottom of each account details. To get started, she will need the following items: Social Security number, One of the following: Driver's license, State ID, or Passport. To make a first deposit online, a debit card linked to an account from another financial institution, a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) may be used or you can stop by your local TD Store to make a deposit.
If she runs into any problems during the process or if she prefers, please inform your daughter she can contact us at 1-888-751-9000 to speak with a Customer Service Representative. Our Specialists are available 24/7 and would be happy to answer any questions and even open the account over the telephone!
Your daughter can also visit TD Store, during lobby hours, to open an account. For hours and locations near you, take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores .
Additionally, if you wish to open a joint account, both you and your daughter must be present at the time of the account opening and this you can be done any TD Store. Make sure to bring a proper I.D, one listed above, if you decide to open the account or joint account at a TD location. You will also need to make an initial deposit to the account you selected. There would not be a minimum requirement to open the account; however, some accounts have requirements in order to have certain fees waived.
Thank you again for reaching out and considering us, Lili. Enjoy the rest of your day!
