That's a great question, Thalia and we're happy to help!
To open a personal account with us, we encourage you to view the products that we offer first, to determine which account(s) will be the best fit for you. To view the different types of Checking accounts please click: http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd or check out our Checking Selector Tool here: http://bit.ly/KmmHe7 for help choosing a Checking account. We also offer a variety of Savings accounts for all of your saving needs! We recommend taking a look at http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9 for more detailed information on each particular Savings account available. You may also find it helpful to check out our customized Savings Selector Tool, found here: http://bit.ly/1hXi2wF.
Once you have decided the type of the account you wish to open, you may use the links provided above to open the account online. You may also call us directly 24/7 at 888-751-9000 with any questions you may have and set up your new account via telephone.
As always, you are welcome to stop by your nearest TD Bank Store to speak with a Banking Specialist regarding new account options to determine what product type fits you the best. To find a TD Store location near you, please visit, http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Regardless of how you decide to open the account you will need to have a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.) and Social Security number to complete the application process.
If you are a Non-US resident and do not have Social Security number at this time, you will need to have two forms of identification with you and stop by your local TD Bank Store during our lobby hours to set up your new account. One form of ID must be a Non-US passport and the second form of ID you may select from the list below:
- Employment ID with Photo and Signature
- State Issued ID or Driver's License with Signature
- Foreign Driver's License with Photo
- US Employment Authorization card with Photo, Signature and Expiration Date
- College ID with Photo
- Alien Registration Card with Photo
- Permanent Resident Card with Photo
If you are looking for information on opening a business account with us, you must visit us at any local TD Store and there are a few things you'd need to bring with you. If your business account is going to have multiple signers, be sure to bring them with you for the account opening process. Those who are going to be signers on the account need to bring the following documents: a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.) and Social Security number. For a non-resident alien opening a business account, you will need two valid forms of ID and a W-8Ben must be completed during the account opening process. Also, be sure to bring the Tax Identification Number for your business.
If you are looking to open an LLC, there are some additional documents you will need to bring with you. One of the listed documents is required for account opening but you can bring more than one if you desire: The documents used to form and register your business, the fictitious name registration or the Operating Agreement. Additionally, you will also need to bring documentation of your LLC Resolution.
Additionally, like we mentioned above with opening a personal account, we suggest reviewing the types of business accounts that we offer. If you take a look here, http://bit.ly/1lWgAhe, the link shows the types of business Checking accounts that we have. Our web page can even make a selection based on your needs with the Business Checking Selector tool: http://bit.ly/1lGeYmw.
Once you've decided on the right account for your needs and your business, you can stop by your local TD Bank for assistance or contact us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 to schedule an appointment.
We hope this is helpful, Thalia and please let us know if you have any additional questions. Have a wonderful weekend!
