Thank you for reaching us on TD Helps, Chris. We'd be happy to discuss.
A TD Bank Visa Debit Card can be used as “credit” anywhere Visa is accepted. This being said, when you use your TD Bank Visa Debit Card and select “credit” as the payment method, the merchant will usually require a signature if the purchase is made in person or the three-digit security code printed on the back of your debit card if the purchase is made online. The transaction goes through Visa and may take additional time to post to your account; however, it will be deducted from your available balance right away.
If you use your debit card to make a debit transaction, it will require you to use your PIN after you select to pay by "debit." These type of transactions posts to your account the next business day and tend to have a lower limit than using your card with your signature.
As you've mentioned that you are having trouble with your account specifically, we ask that you contact us directly for additional assistance.
