trying to apply online with my passport but it's asking for machine readable line 1 and line 2. I have no idea what that is.

Hi Silvano! Thanks for coming to TD Helps with a great question.
When using your U.S. Passport for ID in the online account opening page, it will ask for the 2 machine readable lines on your passport. These are the two lines you'll find under your photo and personal info on your passport. The numbers and letters may be enclosed within arrows. They can be found at the very bottom of your main passport page.
