Hi! I bought something online today, and I'm planning on returning it. I already sent the emails to the place, so when they approve the return, will my available balance change?? Will the money that I used to buy it with which was not processed, be added back to my available balance?

Thanks for submitting your question today, Magdalene. We're happy to provide you with some information today.
When you make a purchase with your debit card the funds are immediately deducted from your available balance and the transaction will be placed in the pending section of your account. When you return items to the store, the refund can typically take 3-5 business days.
If a Visa Debit card authorization is still listed on your checking account but the transaction was cancelled, in most cases the hold will expire. Once this occurs, the funds will be returned to your available account balance on or after the expiration date set by the merchant.
To determine when the authorization will expire, we invite you to give one of our dedicated Banking Specialists a call. For your convenience, they are available 24/7 at 888-751-9000 and can review the transaction on your account, and provide you with any available options during your call.
If you have yet to see the refund back to your account we do recommend contacting Customer Service 24/7 at the above mentioned number. After account verification, a Representative will be able to review the account with you and provide options on how to proceed. If you'd prefer, you're also welcome to visit a TD Store during lobby hours. For locations and hours please view: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We appreciate your visit, Magdalene and hope you have a great day.
