Thank you for contacting TD Helps today, William. This is a great question, and we'll be happy to help clear things up for you.
There is no minimum amount required to open an account with us. However, depending on the type of account you choose to open, you may be required to maintain a minimum daily balance to avoid a maintenance fee. If you choose an account with a minimum daily balance, we recommend opening the account with that amount as an initial deposit.
We offer many different types of Checking and Savings accounts. To take a look at the Checking accounts we have to offer, please visit https://go.td.com/1aDaRqd, or feel free to use our Checking Selector Tool https://go.td.com/2fhzGCi for help with selecting a checking account that suits your needs. You may also take a look at our current Savings account here https://go.td.com/1hzzhPT, or if you would like help choosing a Savings account as well, you may view our Savings Selector tool here https://go.td.com/2qg3wZV.
Once you've decided on an account for you, there are a few ways you're able to open your new account. You are able to open your account online by selecting "Open Account" beneath the product of your choosing, by calling us, 24/7, by dialing 888-751-9000, or by visiting any TD Store during lobby hours. To take a look at TD Stores near you please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
Keep in mind that regardless of the method you choose to open your new account, you will need a valid photo I.D. (Driver's license, State ID, or Passport etc.) and your Social Security Number.
We hope this information was helpful, William. Have a great day, and please enjoy your weekend.
