I'm trying to set up a direct deposit that will allow me to automatically send my paycheck into both my savings and checking accounts. The checking account was easy because the routing number is supplied on the voided check I sent them. But they need information on the savings account and asked that I provide a routing number (which I have), and a transit number (which I never heard of before today). I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that I work for a UK-based company... Please help. Thanks.

Routing (transit) numbers are based upon the TD Store in which you originally opened your account. You can take a look at a listing of our current routing numbers found here: http://bit.ly/1cmRPoF. If you are not sure where you first started your TD account or would just like the peace of mind, we invite you to give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 for your routing number. You can also ask at your local TD Store. For Store hours and locations near you please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Please note that your routing number and transit number are the same. This is the only information required if the funds will be provided to your account via direct deposit. However, keep in mind that if your employer is sending the funds from the UK via a Wire Transfer, they may require a SWIFT code.
For all wire transfers being sent to TD Bank in Foreign Currency, you will need to provide the following:
Wire To: The Toronto-Dominion Bank - Swift code: TDOMCATTTOR - The Toronto-Dominion Bank, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, M5K 1A2
For Further Credit to (Beneficiary Bank): TD Bank, N.A. - Swift code: NRTHUS33XXX -TD BANK, N.A. 6000 Atrium Way Mount Laurel, NJ 08054 USA.
In Favor of: Your Account Number - Your Full Name - Your address: including City, State and Country
