Good afternoon, George and thank you for considering TD for your banking needs.
As you'd like to open a new account with TD Canada Trust and you have reached TD Bank in the United States, we recommend reaching out to our affiliate, TD Canada Trust's TD Helps page here: http://bit.ly/1giEf7F and feel free to submit your own question on their site. We'd also like to invite you visit here: http://bit.ly/1CxHF0y for a similar question which has been previously answered by our friends at TD Canada Trust. Additionally, you can reach out to them 24/7 directly at 1-866-222-3456 to speak with a Banking Specialist. They can also provide you with the options of transferring funds to another financial institution outside Canada.
As you are also a TD Bank U.S. customer, once you have opened your new TD Canada Trust account, you can transfer funds between your U.S. TD account and your Canadian TD account by speaking with a Representative from our TD Cross Border Banking Support Line at (877) 700-2913 (press 1 for English, 2 for French) and this service is available to both US and Canadian Customers 24/7. Upon proper verification, you will be able to request cross border transfers at free of charge.
Let us know if you have any other questions. We hope you have a great afternoon, George!
