I know that I can transfer up to 2500 between my own accounts with Visa Direct, but what is the best way to transfer a larger sum to another person's Borderless account (e.g. Wire transfer)? Could you also let me know what the steps to do so are? And the time and fees associated with it?

Thank you for coming to TD Helps with your inquiry, Lesley.
In order to transfer funds from your account at TD Bank here in the U.S. to another person's account at TD Canada Trust, we suggest an outgoing international wire transfer. In order to initiate an outgoing international wire transfer, you will need to visit a TD Store. For a listing of TD Bank Stores and hours, please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Once at the Store, you will need to provide the name and address of the receiving bank, as well as their SWIFT/BIC code. You will also need the name on the account to be credited, the beneficiary address and the account number. Please review additional information on sending international wires at http://bit.ly/1oowsYN.
We utilize the services of correspondent and/or intermediary banks to transfer funds to banks overseas. These banks might charge a fee for their services, and the correspondent and/or intermediary bank might deduct these fees from the wire transfer amount. Please note that we do not process or disburse funds from wire transfers received designated Pay Upon Proper Identification (PUPID) and return them to the sender. For more information on fees for wire transfers, please take a look here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt.
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to our Banking Specialists 24/7 at 888-751-9000.
We hope the information provided help. Let us know if you have any further questions. Have a great one, Lesley!
