It's so nice of you to join us on TD Helps today, David.
We'd be happy to share with you some information regarding debit card purchases. In most cases, when you see "Debit" it means that you opted to use your PIN when making a purchase with a merchant. Debit Card purchases are deducted from your checking account in the same way a check deducts purchases from your account, by accessing the available funds. When you use your debit card as credit, you will usually be asked to sign.
If you have any questions regarding a particular transaction, feel free to call us 24/7 at 888-751-9000. You may also visit your nearest TD Bank Store and you can look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find one close by.
We hope these helped clear things up for you. Have a delightful day.
