Thanks for sending us your question today, Myriam.
Depending on your Checking account type, there may be a $30.00 fee applied for a stop payment. Please note; fees are subject to change. Please visit: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt to view our fee schedule.
There are a couple of options to request a stop payment on a check that has not been presented against your account yet.
First, you may give a call 24/7 to speak with a Customer Service Representative at 888-751-9000. Our Representatives would be happy to assist you in placing stop payments. Keep in mind you will need the check number, exact amount of the check as well as who it was made payable to.
You may also place a stop payment via Online Banking. If you're not currently enrolled for Online Banking, you may do so by clicking: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. You will need your account number, ATM/debit card number and Social Security number to enroll online. Once you're logged in, please click on the "Customer Service" tab and then "Stop Payment."
As always, you're welcome to visit a TD Bank location for further assistance with the stop payment as well. For Store locations please check out: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope this information is helpful, Myriam and please have a great day.
