You came to the right place for details regarding your inquiry, Jessica. Thanks for considering TD Bank!
Generally speaking, there is no set amount that you need to open an account with us. However, some accounts do require a daily minimum balance to avoid a monthly maintenance fee. At TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank, we remain committed to ensuring the highest level of satisfaction with all of our products and services. You can certainly open an account for your child. Please note, only authorized signers on the account will have access to the account.
If your child is 18 years of age or younger, we will require a joint account holder or a custodian on the account as well. We do offer some products which are designed specifically for minors. You may click the following link to view and compare Savings Account products http://bit.ly/1g5vhXQ, or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best Savings account for your needs.
To set up a joint account with a minor, both parties are required to visit a TD Bank Store and be present for the account opening process. To find a TD Store location near you, please visit, http://bit.ly/TDStores. Please keep in mind that your child will need to provide a valid form of identification such as a State License, State ID or Passport. Acceptable forms of identification for minors include; School ID (preferably with a picture), Passport, US Birth Certificate or Social Security Card.
We hope this helps and please let us know if you need anything else. Enjoy your day.
