Thanks for coming by TD Helps, Michael! We're glad that you would like to open an account with us and we'll be able to answer any questions you may have.
Although there is no set amount that you need to open an account with us, some accounts do require a daily minimum balance to avoid a monthly maintenance fee. To view and compare our Checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help with selecting a Checking account that is the best fit for you.
Once you decide on the account type that best suits your needs, you can open the account via online, telephone or at any TD Bank location during lobby hours. To open the account via online, click on the "Open Account" button below the account you choose and fill in the required fields. You can open an account via telephone 24/7 by calling our Customer Service line at 888-751-9000 and one of our Banking Specialists can open the account for you. Please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find TD Bank near you, if you choose to visit a Store.
Once your account has successfully been opened, you may then apply for Direct Deposit. With Direct Deposit, funds are credited to your account immediately and you don’t have to wait for your check to clear. And best of all, it’s FREE! To get set up for direct deposit with your new TD Bank Checking account, simply fill out Direct Deposit Authorization Form: http://bit.ly/1sSvhT6, and hand the completed form to your Employer and they will do the rest! You will need to provide your account number, your Bank name; which is TD Bank, your routing number, which is based on the location of your account opening (for more information take a look here: http://bit.ly/1cmRPoF), and finally the type of account you have, which in your case would be a Checking account.
Let us know if you have any questions and have a good day, Michael!
