I am thinking about opening an account here. I would like to know how much money I need in my checking account to waive the service fee.

Thanks for contacting TD Helps today, David. We're happy to hear you're interested in joining the TD family, and we'll be happy to point you in the right direction!
We offer a variety of Checking accounts, and there would not be a minimum requirement to open the account; however, some accounts have requirements in order to have certain fees waived. We would encourage you to view and compare our checking accounts by visiting https://go.td.com/2aHjRCr, or check out our Checking Selector Tool https://go.td.com/2fhzGCi for help with selecting a Checking account that is the best fit for you.
We also offer quite a few different types of Savings accounts. To view the account types available, please take a look at https://go.td.com/2l8ffpM. You may also find it helpful to check out our customized Savings Selector tool, found here: https://go.td.com/2l8ffpM.
We also offer many ways to open an account here at TD Bank. You may open your accounts online by clicking on the "Open Account" box which will be listed at the bottom of each account details. To get started, you'll need the following: Your Social Security number and ID (Driver's License, State ID, or Passport). To make your first deposit online, you may use a debit card linked to an account from another financial institution, a credit card (Visa or MasterCard), or you can stop by your local TD Bank Store to make a deposit.
You may also call us to help you with the account opening process by dialing 888-751-9000. Our Customer Service Representatives are available 24/7 to assist you! Once your accounts are opened via telephone, you will have 30 business days to make your initial deposit.
Furthermore, you have the option of visiting us at a TD Store to open an account. If you choose this option, you will need to make an initial deposit to the account you selected. For hours and locations near you, take a look here: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
We hope this helped answer all your concerns, David, and please enjoy the rest of your day.
