Welcome to TD Helps and thank you for sending us your question, Kelly.
If you are considering opening a Checking and/or Savings account with us, you would be happy to learn that there is no set amount that you need to open an account; however, some accounts do require a daily minimum balance to avoid a monthly maintenance fee.
To view and compare our personal Checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help with selecting a Checking account that is the best fit you. To view and compare personal Savings account products, click on http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9 , or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM ;which can help you choose the best Savings account for your needs.
You can also review a full list of all Personal Account Maintenance Fees and compare our accounts here: http://bit.ly/1nldlQv. This chart will provide you with all the information you might be looking for including minimum balance requirement and maintenance fees.
Once you decide on the account type that best suits your needs, you can open the account via online, telephone or at any TD Bank location during lobby hours. To open the account via online, click on the "Open Account" button below the account you choose and fill in the required fields. You can open an account via telephone 24/7 by calling our Customer Service line at 888-751-9000 and one of our Banking Specialists can open the account for you. Please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find TD Bank near you, if you choose to visit a Store. You will need to bring a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.) and Social Security number.
If you are planning on switching from another bank to TD Bank, we understand this can be challenging. We’ve developed this Easy Switch Checklist to help you navigate the process. Check out http://bit.ly/1nEm90e to see this easy-to-follow guide.
Thanks again for choosing TD Bank. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask or reach us at the number above! Have a great day, Kelly!
