Thank you for considering TD for your banking needs, Heather!
We offer a variety of Checking accounts. There would not be a minimum requirement to open the account; however, some accounts have requirements in order to have certain fees waived. We would encourage you to view and compare our checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/1lNLk53 or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help with selecting a Checking account that is the best fit for you.
We also offer many ways to open accounts. You can open your accounts online by clicking on the "Open Account" box which will be listed at the bottom of each account details. To get started, you'll need the following: Your Social Security number and ID (Driver's License, State ID, or Passport). To make your first deposit online, you may use a debit card linked to an account from another financial institution, a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or you can stop by your local TD Bank Store to make a deposit.
You can also call us to help you with the account opening process by dialing 888-751-9000. Our Customer Service Representatives are available 24/7 to assist you! Once your accounts are opened via telephone, you will have 30 business days to make your initial deposit.
Furthermore, you have the option of visiting us at a TD Store to open an account. If you choose this option, you will need to make an initial deposit to the account you selected. For hours and locations near you, take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope this helps, Heather and have a wonderful day!
