In reply to Ben, Portland
Good afternoon and thanks for stopping by TD Helps, Ben! We'll be glad to go over our endorsement policy with you today.
A third party check is written to one party only and endorsed by that payee, who then endorses the check over to another person. For example, Joe Smith has a check made payable to him. He endorses the check on the back and writes, "pay to the order of Sue Jones." Sue Jones then endorses the check and wants to deposit it into her account. We can accept the check for deposit only into Sue Jones' account. An Endorsement Authorization & Release Form must be completed at the time of the deposit. Please note, third party checks must be deposited with a TD Bank teller and cannot be made via the ATM or Mobile Deposit.
Please also keep in mind that government or insurance checks can only be presented for payment to the person listed on the "Payable to" line of the check, and for a check with two payees, these types of checks can only be deposited into a joint account naming both parties. Click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find a TD Bank near you.
Hope this answers your question, Ben and have a good one! Take care.

Welcome to the TD Helps community, Jamie. We do accept third party check deposits. Check out below for all the information you may need!
If you have a TD Bank deposit account, such as Checking, Savings or Money Market account, you may be able to deposit a check that is issued to a third party to your TD Bank account. When doing so, please ensure the check is properly endorsed by both you and your uncle. An Endorsement Authorization & Release Form must be completed at the time of the deposit. Both you and your uncle can visit any TD Store during lobby hours to receive the form and complete the transaction. If he is unable to join you in the store to sign this form, we recommend reaching out to the store directly to ensure no further documentation is needed. For Store hours and locations near you please visit http://go.td.com/TDStores.
Please note, the back of the check(s) must be endorsed by the person who the check is made out to and the person that is depositing the check before it is presented. Please note; government or insurance checks can only be presented for payment from the person listed on the "Payable to" line of the check.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to us 24/7, at 888-751-9000.
We are always here to help, Jamie. Please feel free to reach out to us with any other questions.
