We understand your concern, Martin, and we'd be glad to discuss how transactions work.
Based on your question, it sounds as though you made a transaction using the Visa aspect of your debit card.
When you use Visa to make a debit card transaction with a merchant, these funds are debited from your account immediately and listed under your pending transactions. These items can take 3-5 business days to apply to your account. If during this time the merchant does not notify TD that they plan on collecting the funds, the authorization expires and the funds return to your account balance.
To determine if this is what occurred with the transaction you've mentioned, we recommend reaching out to a Banking Specialist directly. To do so, you are able to contact us 24/7 by dialing 888-751-9000 or by visiting a TD Store during lobby hours. To take a look at Store locations and their hours please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
In addition, if you are enrolled for online access, you can send a secure message. To send a secure message using Online Banking, please sign in here: http://go.td.com/1eaISlq and select 'Send a secure message' located in the 'Message Center' on the left hand side of the page. For Mobile Banking, select the option to 'Contact Us' followed by 'Send a secure message' after signing in.
We hope this clears things up, Martin. Enjoy your day.
