I am in Toronto, Canada. I opened account online and asked a friend to make initial deposit to my account at branch. What will happen next? How can I sign up for online banking?

Thank you for coming by TD Helps, Hui! We are glad to point you in the right direction regarding your online banking access.
We'd like to confirm that you've reached TD Bank here in the United States. With that being said, if you're referring to a U.S.-based account that you've recently opened online with us, please be aware that the initial deposit to activate your account must be made via a Me-to-Me wire transfer through our Cross-Border Banking Department from an account that you have with TD Canada Trust. If you do not have an account already with TD Canada Trust, then to make your initial deposit you would be required to mail in a check or money order from an account that you have with another financial institution.
For any questions relating to your initial deposit or that you may have about opening your account with us, we recommend reaching out to one of our dedicated Cross-Border Banking Specialists at 877-700-2913 Option #2. We're available 24/7 to discuss our Cross-Border Banking services with you and go over the process to open and activate your account(s).
If you're referring to an account that you've just opened with our partners at TD Canada Trust, then we ask that you submit your question on their TD Helps page found here: http://bit.ly/1kD3iFr or reach out to them 24/7 at one of the numbers found here: http://bit.ly/1kntKV4.
We apologize for any confusion with your initial deposit, but it was great seeing you here today, Hui. Please feel free to let us know if you have any more questions. Have a great day!
