Welcome to TD Helps, Kesha. We'd be happy to review account status with you.
If you haven't used your account, your account status could be inactive, meaning that there have been no deposits or withdrawals for a year. If you haven't used your account for longer than a year, your account may now be listed as dormant. Please note that after 3-5 years of an account maintaining the dormant status, any remaining funds in the account may be turned over to the State. In order to reactivate an account that has been listed as inactive or dormant, we ask that you visit us during lobby hours at any TD Store. By making an over-the-counter deposit with one of our Tellers, your account status will be returned to active. To take a look at TD Stores near you please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
If your account has been overdrawn, there is a chance that your account will close if you maintain an overdraft balance for 60 calendar days consecutively. After the 60 calendar days have passed, the account will be closed and handled by our Recovery Department. For more information on overdrawn accounts please visit http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ to view our Personal Account Agreement (page 10).
If you are unsure of your account status, we recommend contacting us directly for assistance. You may do so 24/7 by dialing 888-751-9000 or by visiting a TD Store during lobby hours. If you are sure that your account is closed and would like to resolve the balance, we ask that you contact our Recovery Department Monday through Friday 8am-9pm and Saturday 8am-5pm at 800-742-2651 or visit a TD Store.
We hope this helps, Kesha and have a good day.
