It's great to have you join us today, Ben.
Thanks for considering us for your banking needs. To open an account, we recommend depositing the minimum balance requirement when applicable for the account type being opened. If you were to open an account online at www.tdbank.com or by phone 24/7 at 888-751-9000 you would not be required to make a deposit that same day. For information on TD Bank locations please check out: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
If you'd like more information on the different types of Checking accounts that TD Bank offers take a look here: http://bit.ly/Wczmq0. We also suggest looking at our Checking Selector Tool here: http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU, it will provide you with a personalized Checking account recommendation. You should also take a look at http://bit.ly/1hzzhPT for more detailed information on each particular Savings account available at TD Bank. You may find it helpful to check out our customized Savings Selector Tool, found here: http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM.
Once you've decided on which account is best for you, you can open the account via the internet by clicking on the "Open Account" box which will be listed at the bottom of each account details. To get started, you'll need the following: Your Social Security number, One of the following: Driver's license, State ID, or Passport. To make a first deposit online, you may use a debit card linked to an account from another financial institution, a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or you can stop by your local TD Bank Store to make a deposit.
There are 5 steps with series of questions you will need to fill in during this account opening process. The first step is the "Account Info", you will need to input the account type you are looking to open and whether you want a TD Bank Debit Card or not. The second step is your "Personal Info". This is where you authenticate your identity so you will need your Social Security number and your Driver's license, State ID, or Passport for this portion. Step three is the "Disclosures" where you will be requested to view and agree to. Step four is your "First Deposit". If you have a current account, whether it is with TD Bank or another institution, this is where you can transfer funds into the new account for the first deposit. Finally step five is the "Finish" portion. Review your information and submit your application.
If you run into any problems during the process, feel free to give us a call 24/7 at the number provided above.
Hope you have a great day!
