Thanks for joining TD, Elaine!
If your account is opened online, you will have an option to set up a transfer from another financial institution during the account opening process. But this is not mandatory. If you choose not to make your initial deposit that way, you can still make an opening deposit in person at one of our Stores, at an ATM machine, or through mobile deposit.
If you'd like to make a mobile deposit, you'll need to be enrolled in online banking. This is also offered at account opening. If you did not set it up at that time, you will need to obtain your account and debit card numbers. If you do not have this information, you may need to visit a TD Bank Store with photo ID to obtain your account number. We can even set up online banking for you in-Store!
If you are enrolled in Online Banking, download our app to your mobile phone or tablet that has a camera. Once downloaded, login with your username and password. Click the camera icon that says "Deposit". You'll need to enroll in this service by agreeing to the terms and conditions and by allowing the app access to your camera. Once this is done, you should be able to mobile deposit a check to your account by photographing the front and back of the check and submitting it for deposit.
As we said earlier you can also make physical deposits. Once you've received your debit card, you can make a deposit at any TD Bank ATM. You're also invited to stop into any of our Stores to make your deposit with a teller. To find a Store or ATM near you, please click here: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc.
If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000.
We hope you're having a great day, Elaine!
