I purchased some products on Sephora online, the total amount is $140, but the order was cancelled lately. Yesterday, I saw the pending transaction had two records from Sephora, and the amount were same. Also, the total amount was $280. Now, I feel confused. Did I pay for this? But the order was cancelled.

Thanks for contacting TD Helps today, Jiawen. Great question, and we'll be happy to help.
If a transaction that you have cancelled is still pending on your account, chances are that the pending transaction is still in a “Hold” status. A debit card “Hold” is a debit card purchase that has not yet posted to an account. Before vendors remove the funds from an account, they place a hold on the funds in that account to notify us that a purchase has been made. If the vendor fails to present the final receipt for payment, the funds should automatically be released back to your account. Duplicate holds like this are not uncommon when using your debit card. It is most often due to the machine being unable to read your card, or an error is transmitted when your card is swiped. Therefore the card is swiped a second time and two authorizations are transmitted to us.
Please know that while we would like to assist you directly with your account, TD Helps is not considered a secured forum, so we are unable to discuss account specific information.
