When you apply for a home equity loan for the purpose of debt consolidation ( credit cards) do you need to give the bank the credit card numbers before the closing or at the closing?

Hi Joan, welcome to TD Helps, and we would love to help with giving helpful tips for your consolidation goals.
Applying for a Home Equity Loan is easy, and we will work with you during the process of consolidation. If you would like to include your Credit Card Balances with your consolidation, we would process this by having our lender ask for your Credit Card information when you attend closing. Once you sign off on the closing of your consolidation, our lender will then sign out a check to each of the necessary merchants to pay off the debts.
We would like to provide some info regarding our Home Equity Loans. Check out http://bit.ly/1o363Py, and if you have additional questions, feel free to contact a Home Lending Specialist at 1-800-822-6761.
We hope that we were able to assist you in the best manner, Joan, but we invite you back to TD Helps with any further questions!
