I used online banking to pay my rent check. It was supposed to have been received on October 1st. As of the 6th, they still had not received the check. Yet a different check I sent two days later to the same recipients was received two days ago. What is the problem?

We understand your concern, Donna and we'd be glad to discuss Bill Pay with you.
First, we would like to let you know that Bill Payments made using TD Bank Bill Pay can be issued electronically or as a draft check, and actual processing is determined by the Biller. Since you mentioned that your payment was sent as a check, the date you select in Bill Pay for a check payment is the date the check should be delivered. Typically, there is a delay between the date on which you schedule this payment and the pay date you can select. Three to four business days are usually needed for a check payment since the item will be issued and mailed for delivery by your chosen date.
When you select a pay date, the check should be received by your Biller on or prior to this date if no delays or exceptions occur during mailing. Please note that the check will not be deducted from your TD Bank account until the Biller actually cashes or deposits the check.
