My debit card is getting rejected whether I use it as a credit or debit card. I have a positive bank balance, definitely enough to cover the purchases I am trying to make. The card has not expired yet. I have not reported it lost or stolen (because it isn't).

They'll be happy to review your debit card with you on the phone after account verification. They may also issue a new one and close your current debit card if it is necessary.
