Hi, I will be moving to Canada to study, and I am in the process of renting an apartment. I already have a US and Canadian bank account with TD.
The leasing admin. requested I submit my 6 months of rent pre-paid by courrier. I am not familiar with this process as my concern is: will I be able to depost US currency and recieve Canadian currency (CAD) as a certified cheque or money order?

Based on your question, it sounds like you need an International Draft. TD Customers may purchase International Draft Checks at any TD Store during lobby hours. For more information on International Draft Checks, please take a look here: http://bit.ly/KjgTlh.
Orders placed before 3:00PM will be processed the same business day and orders placed after 3:00PM will be considered to be made on the next business day. Please note that for international drafts in amounts over $1000.00 USD may take two or more business days. To take a look at TD Stores near you please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.

Since you've also mentioned that you'll be moving to Canada, we recommend updating your address when the time comes.
You are able to give us a call 24/7 by dialing 888-751-9000. After account verification, our Representatives will be glad to update your address.
If you've been enrolled for Online Banking for over 30 days, you can update your address once you log in. To do so, please visit here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. After you log in, please click on the "Customer Service" tab and then select "Change Address, Phone, Email Address" link to update your information. This method may be used for both your deposit accounts and loan or line of credit accounts.
Please note; your change of address request can take up to 3 to 5 business days to be completed.

Keep in mind that you will need your account number, ATM/Visa Debit Card number, Social Security Number and email address to sign up.
