Thanks for connecting with us here at TD Helps, Suresh. We'd be glad to help.
As you mentioned you are currently in California and are unable to visit a TD Store to initiate a wire transfer to an account in California and based on the information you provided in your message, it sounds like you may have the option of utilizing TD External Transfers service or our Person-to-Person Payment feature provided via Online Banking.
If you are looking to transfer funds from your TD Bank account to your account in California, you would use our External Transfer service. Our External Transfer service is used if you're sending money from your personal account with TD Bank to your account at another Financial Institution within the United States. You can also initiate a request for funds from your account at another Financial Institution within the United States to your TD account. When using this service to send funds, fees may apply; however, if funds are deposited into your TD Bank account from another institution, we will not be charged a fee in that instance at this time.
If you are looking to transfer funds to a California account that belongs to someone else besides you, you may use our Person-to-Person Payment feature. Our Person-to-Person Payment feature allows you to transfer funds from your personal TD Bank Account to any other individual's bank account within the United States.
In order to be eligible to use our External Transfer service and our Person-to-Person Payment feature, you must have a United States address, a unique United States phone number, a United States issued Social Security number and a valid unique email address. You must also be enrolled for Online Banking and be using a TD Bank Checking or Money Market account for the transfer.
For the information on our External Transfer and Popmoney® Payments Services Terms and Conditions, please check out this link: http://bit.ly/1pADlWD. Please note that there may be fees for the use of the above service. We invite you to take a look at our Fee Schedule here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt.
To use these features, you must be enrolled in Online Banking. If you are already enrolled for Online Banking, please check here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq.
After logging onto your account, for External Transfers, please choose the "Transfers" tab. Then click on "Transfer to Accounts Outside TD Bank." You will then be asked to accept a user agreement and review the fee schedule.
After the enrollment is completed, you may continue to schedule a transfer by adding your account at a different institution. To do so, select "Add a New Account." You will then be prompted to select the type of account followed by the account and routing numbers. Once you enter the required fields, the transfer service will then display whether or not you can make an immediate transfer. In some cases, a trial deposit is initiated at the receiving institution for verification purposes. You’re welcome to check out: http://bit.ly/1jXKYqq for all of the exciting details.
If you choose to send an External Transfer, you will have two delivery options, three day or next day delivery. The next day delivery option is not available for Savings accounts. To qualify for the next day delivery option, you must wait 90 days from your first successful three day transfer and must not have had any transactions that overdrew your account in the past 90 days.
For Person-to-Person Payments, once you have logged into your Online Banking, you may click on the tab at the top of the page titled "Person-to-Person Payments." You will then be asked to accept a user agreement, review the fee schedule and confirm your email and phone number. A text and email code will be sent to the mobile number and email address we have on file for you. Next we will request you to submit both codes for verification to complete the enrollment process. Once the enrollment is complete you’ll be ready to send the payment!
You will have two delivery options when sending a Person-to-Person payment; there is the three business day option and the next business day delivery. Again, the next day delivery option is not available for Savings accounts. To qualify for the next day delivery option, you must wait 90 days from your first successful 3-day transfer and must not have had any transactions that overdrew your account in the past 90 days.
Just in case that you are not currently enrolled for Online Banking for your personal accounts, no worries! We have you covered. You may use our self-service option by visiting http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY to begin the enrollment process. In order to do so, you will need your account number, TD Bank ATM/Debit Card, your Social Security number and your email address. When you finish the enrollment process, you will have immediate access to your account(s).
If you do not have the required information to set up for Online Banking or you need assistance enrolling, you may contact us 24/7 at 1-888-751-9000 to speak with a Banking Specialist. Upon proper account verification, we would be happy to help get you started.
We hope this helps. Have a great one.

But is there a limit on the money I can transfer into CA? I have a lot of funds in NJ and wanted to know how to get them to CA...

Welcome back, Suresh! We'll be sure to answer your follow up question.
The external transfer feature does come with limits on the amount you can send or receive. For the information on the payment methods and amounts, please check out this link: http://bit.ly/1pADlWD (Pg 3. section1.16). To locate your current individual limits, please follow these steps:
· Log into your online banking
· Click on the Person-to-Person Payments tab.
· Select the account in which you are sending the funds from
· Type in the person’s name, email or mobile number you are sending the funds to
· Type in the amount you’re trying to send
· Select the send date
· Click continue
· Complete the pop-up to add a new contact
· Click save
· Click on the info button (question mark) next to the amount box
If your transfer exceeds your personal limit, there might be another option for you. If there is another signer on your account, they can send you a wire transfer. Please take a look at the information below.
The joint owner on your TD Bank account will need the full name, address (including City), State/Province, Country and your California bank account number. They'll also need the full name and address, including City, State/Province and Country of the financial institution receiving the funds, plus of course the amount and currency of the transfer.
For more details on sending international wires, please visit http://bit.ly/1oowsYN . When they're are ready to send the wire transfer, you will need to provide the other bank our SWIFT address; which is NRTHUS33XXX, as well as obtain their SWIFT address, which you can obtain by contacting the institution directly.
We hope this helps answer your question and feel free to give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 if you have any additional questions, Suresh! Take care.
