We are closing on our new home in NC on 8/11 and will need to do a wire transfer from our account in time for the closing. I have the wire instructions but am waiting on the final exact amount to wire. A few questions:
1) We are on vacation in ME (York), can we visit that branch to initiate the wire transfer?
2) If yes, the amount we will need to send about $213k, is that going to be a problem (we have about $285k total in our checking/savings accounts now)--in other words, is there a maximum amount we should be worried about bumping up against?
3) How many days does it take from when we visit the branch to initiate the transfer until it happens (in other words, can we do it Friday 8/7 to be in the proper title company account by Tuesday 8/11)?

It's fantastic to have you join us here on TD Helps, Heather.
To initiate a wire transfer from your personal accounts, you can visit any TD Bank Store. Please view http://bit.ly/TDStores for hours and locations near you. Once you are at your desired location, to send a domestic wire you will need to provide us the Name of the other financial institution as well as ABA routing number, the beneficiary address, the account number and account title to be credited. Also, you will be glad to know that there are no limits on the amount that can be sent through a wire transfer.
Keep in mind that transfer fees may apply, for our fee schedule follow this link: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt. If you are sending funds to another institution, we would also recommend checking with the other financial institution to ensure no other additional information is required as well as to obtain information regarding any additional fees for their services. And please note that we do not process or disburse funds from wire transfers received designated Pay Upon Proper Identification (PUPID) and return them to the sender.
If you sent a wire from your TD account and are unsure if the funds were received, you are able to place a trace on the wire. A trace will provide you with the details of the wire's arrival to your client's account. To place a trace on the wires you've sent, we ask that you visit the TD Store in which you initiated the transfers. They'd be happy to assist you.
Also keep in mind that you may reach out to our 24/7 Banking Specialist's at 888-751-9000. After account verification, we would be more than happy to answer any other questions you may have.
Let us know if this helps answer your question and have a nice day.
