We appreciate you coming to TD Helps today, John. We'll be more than happy to help.
A check is linked directly to your account number, and is a method that you can use when you wish to make a payment to specific merchants, or even a person. As checks are linked directly to account numbers, if the account number that is written on the bottom, left hand side of your check is your closed account number, you would be unable to use these checks for payments, as the check would be returned. For an example on where you can view the account number on your checks, please take a look here: https://go.td.com/2bjcv63.
If you need to order new checks to reflect your new account number, you have a couple ways in which you may do so. The first would be to contact a Banking Specialist directly. Specialists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at 1-888-751-9000, and after verification, they'll be more than happy to help! Another option you have would be to visit a TD Store location, during lobby hours, to speak with a Customer Service Representative. To take a look at Store locations and their hours, please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
You also have the option of ordering checks right from your online banking, and you're welcome to use the link here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq to sign in. If you haven't yet enrolled, that's okay, as you can start the enrollment process here: https://go.td.com/1lU2qfY. In order to complete this process you will need your account number, debit card number, a valid email address, and a Social Security Number.
Once you're able to access your online banking, towards the top of your page, you'll want to click on the tab that reads 'Customer Service'. From here, under 'Special Request and Documents', you'll want to click on the link 'Order Checks'. Then, select the account you wish to order checks for. This will then bring you to a separate page that belongs to our partners, Harland Clarke, and after following the instructions, you'll be able to place your check order with them directly!
If you have any trouble at all enrolling or placing your check order, please don't hesitate to contact us at the number above, and we'll be more than happy to help.
Thanks again for stopping by, John. Have a great Wednesday.
