Thanks for joining us tonight on TD Helps, Brenda.
We understand not wanting to leave a burden for our loved ones and want to let you know that you can help them in finalizing your affairs well in advance.
One of the things you can do in preparation is to add a Beneficiary to your account. Once complete, you will remain the owner of the account until you pass. After which, the funds in the account will be disbursed to the individuals you have named as Beneficiaries. To add a Beneficiary, you would need to visit a TD Bank Store and bring the name, address and, date of birth of each individual. You can find the closest location to you by visiting http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Even without a Beneficiary in place, your family can still finalize your affairs. They would need to be named the Executor or your affairs once you pass. Once a relative is named Executor, they would take the document with them to a TD Store, along with their photo ID, and finalize any remaining accounts in your name.
We hope the information is helpful. Thanks again for writing to us on TD Helps, Brenda, and have a nice evening.
