Hey Thomas, you came to the right place for information! We'd be happy to help!
First and foremost, thank you for considering TD Bank for your banking needs.
The documents you will need to have handy to open an account are the following: Your Social Security number and ID (driver's license, State ID, or Passport). There are also several ways available to open an account. You may open the account online, via telephone, or at any TD Store.
Before we go into details on how to open the account(s), we'd like to share with you with many different account types TD Bank offers. We encourage you to view and compare our checking accounts, visithttp://bit.ly/Wczmq0 or check out our Checking Selector Tool: http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help selecting a checking account that is the best fit you. For more information on savings accounts you may click: http://bit.ly/1o4wfc4 and also here for a recommendation with our Savings Selector Tool: http://bit.ly/1hXi2wF.
Once you have decided on the account(s) you'd like to open, to open the account online, click here: http://bit.ly/1fN7u4i to take you directly to the account opening application. If you chose to make your first deposit at the time of the Online application, you may do so online, you may use a debit card linked to an account from another financial institution, a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or you can stop by your local TD Store to make a deposit.
To open the account over the phone, you may call us directly 24/7 at 888-751-9000 and you will have up to 30 business days to make your initial deposit.
Finally, you also have the option of visiting us at your local TD Store, during lobby hours, to open an account. If you choose this option, you will need to make an initial deposit at that time to the account you selected. There would not be a minimum requirement to open the account; however, some accounts have requirements in order to have certain fees waived. We would encourage you to review the link above prior to visiting a Store. For hours and locations near you, take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope this helps and again, thanks for choosing TD Bank! Have a wonderful day!
