My wife and I are US citizens. We would like to open a Canadian Bank Account. Some questions for you: 1) Can that be done in the US or it is necessary to go to Canada and visit one of the Canadian branches; 2)we are looking for a Canadian dollar account, not a US dollar account. We are becoming increasingly concerned with a US currency crisis and would like to park some money outside the US "just in case". We're not looking to circumvent taxes, but would feel more comfortable having some of our cash elsewhere.
