Thanks for reaching us on TD Helps, Rob. We'd be glad to discuss the fees you mentioned.
First we'll cover maintenance fees. On some of our accounts, there is a minimum daily balance required in order to avoid a monthly maintenance fee. If your account falls below the required minimum, the maintenance fee would be assessed on the last day of your statement cycle.
Based on your concerns, it sounds as though you have our Convenience Checking account. To learn more about the minimum balance requirement and any other fees that may be assessed, please visit here: http://bit.ly/18IVtY0. If you have another account type, feel free to locate yours here: http://bit.ly/1Il4Q0y.
You've also mentioned the paper statement fee. You are able to switch to paperless statements in order to waive this fee. To do so, you must first enroll in Online Banking. If you aren't signed up yet, you are able to visit here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY to enroll.
Once you have access to your personal Online Banking, you can follow the steps below to help you go paperless:
1. Log on to your TD Bank Online Banking Account here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq
2. Click the “Customer Service” tab.
3. Select the link for “Online Statement Settings”.
4. Select the “Online Statements” option for each of your accounts.
5. Add the Email Address you wish to have statement alerts sent to.
6. Review and accept the Online Paperless Statement Customer Agreement and Hardware and Software Requirements.
7. Click the check boxes indicating you meet our system requirements and click “Save Changes”.
Please note; you will need to follow these steps for each account you wish to be paperless. Once you’ve elected to receive Online Statements, an e-mail alert will be sent to your e-mail address when a new statement is available for viewing.
If you have any trouble signing up for Online Banking or paperless statements, feel free to call us 24/7 by dialing 888-751-9000 or by visiting any TD Store during lobby hours. To take a look at TD Stores near you please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Finally, you've mentioned receiving a $20 fee. This fee is known as the Sustained Overdraft fee and will be applied on the 10th consecutive calendar day of an overdraft status on the account. To learn more about fees that may apply, we recommend you check out http://bit.ly/1cTejgt.
To determine if any of the fees assessed to your account are eligible to be waived, we ask that you contact us 24/7 by dialing the number mentioned above or by visit any TD Store during lobby hours.
Please know that we would like to assist you directly however TD Helps is considered an unsecured forum and we do not have access to your account/personal information.
We hope to hear from you soon, Rob and have a good day.
