Sorry to hear that you have lost a check, Stephen. We'll point you in the right direction for further assistance.
If an Official Check is lost or stolen, you may request a stop payment to be placed on this check at your local TD Bank Store, during lobby hours. To find out the nearest TD Store near you, please visit, http://bit.ly/TDStores. Please know that stop payments on Official Checks may not be placed until 90 days after the Official Check was originally issued. The Purchaser or Payee (whoever lost the Official Check) must complete a Declaration of Loss Form (Business or Retail). The Declaration of Loss for Official Check must be notarized. The Declaration of Loss for Official Check may be completed at any time prior to re-issuing the Official Check, but the stop payment cannot be placed until 90 days after the Official Check was originally purchased/issued. Additionally, a replacement Official Check cannot be issued until 90 days from the original issue date of the Official Check.
If you are referring to a Money Order, please know that a stop payment can be placed immediately at a TD Store location. Money Orders may be re-issued to you 24 hours after Stop Payment is placed.
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to our Banking Specialists 24/7 at 888-751-9000. Stephen. Have a good afternoon!
